Privacy notice
How we handle the personal information you give us through this site.
Arta Cyber Inc. (“Arta Cyber”, “we”), an Ontario corporation (Ontario Corporation No. 1001726796) based in Ottawa, Ontario, respects your privacy. This notice explains what personal information we collect through artacyber.com and how we handle it, in line with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada) (“PIPEDA”). It covers artacyber.com only, not other websites we link to, such as certpilot.ca.
What we collect
- When you use our contact form or email us: your name, your email address, and whatever you write in your message. Please don’t send passwords, credentials or sensitive system details through the form. We’ll arrange a secure channel if we need them.
- When you call us: your phone number and any voicemail you leave.
- When you visit the site: our hosting and security provider processes technical data, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not build visitor profiles.
Why we use it
We use your information only to reply to your enquiry, discuss and provide services you ask about, and keep the site secure. We don’t sell, rent or trade personal information, and we don’t use it for marketing unless you ask us to. We use trusted service providers to host the site and our email and phone, and they may process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to local law and may be accessible to authorities there.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and for up to two years afterward if no engagement follows. If you become a client, we keep records for as long as the law requires, for example seven years for tax and accounting records. Then we securely delete them.
How we protect it
We’re a cybersecurity firm, and we apply the same practices to our own systems. That includes encrypted connections (HTTPS), access limited to the people who need it, multi-factor authentication on our accounts, and secrets kept out of our code. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps suited to how sensitive the information is.
Client engagements
Information we receive while working for a client, such as system details, security findings or personal information in client systems, is covered by our agreement with that client and our Terms of Service and Payment. It is not covered by this notice.
Your choices and rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to us using it (which may mean we can’t respond to your enquiry). We’ll reply within 30 days. To make a request or ask a question, contact our Privacy Officer at info@artacyber.com.
If you aren’t satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Changes
We’ll update this notice if our practices change, and the version date above will show when. Material changes apply only to information collected after the change.
